Joey is a graduate of the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy. He grew up playing competitive volleyball and basketball and is a proclaimed a gym rat. Being an athlete himself, he has experienced some injuries like inversion sprains, and repetitive strain injuries which lead him to finding this career path.
He has an avid interest in working with athletes from all sports, weekend warriors and all those that enjoy exercise and movement in their life.
He believes there isn’t a “one size fits all” approach. Alongside hands-on treatment, his methodology includes a combination of functional and thorough assessments to help better understand potential underlying causes. He emphasizes the utilization of aftercare exercises for injury prevention, rehabilitation, and maintenance. His goal is to educate clients for long term results rather than short term fixes. The modalities he likes to use are general Swedish techniques, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, dynamic release, IASTM and joint mobilizations.
Outside of work, besides playing sports and training in the gym, he is on a mission to finding new places to eat. Please recommend your favourite spots!
